We do not expect to have puppies in the foreseeable future.  The Kennel was founded 14 years ago to breed top quality well-socialized miniature schnauzers. We belong to the American Miniature Schnauzer Club (AMSC) and subscribe to their Code of Ethics and their Eye Pledge. We are active in our local miniature schnauzer club and have served as officers.  We breed our dogs just once a year, and while they eat, sleep and nap in the Kennel, they spend most of the day with us in our home and playing in the large fenced exercise yard. Moms with puppies live in a cheerful, light filled nursery in our home so they are accustomed to the sounds of a normal household.   We test the DNA of all our moms, and both moms' and puppies' eyes are checked by a veterinary ophthalmologist. We offer a health guarantee that protects the purchaser for one year against hereditary and congenital defects. We do not crop the puppies' ears because we think it is unnecessary and is cruel and painful. We provide purchasers with the puppy's pedigree, medical records, printed information on the breed and raising the puppy, and a grooming chart. Puppies stay with us until they are 8-10 weeks old, as we believe this results in a well adjusted, secure puppy. To maintain the highest standards for our Happy Ours genetic line and ensure our pet puppies do not end up bred to death in a "puppy mill", we do not allow purchasers of pet puppies to breed our dogs, and each must sign a contract stipulating that they will spay/neuter the pup. Should a buyer break this contract, puppies of such a union will not be eligible for AKC registration, i.e., no "papers". We also sell show-potential pups and breeding stock with full registration at higher prices. We require a $100 deposit to reserve a pup. The deposit is completely refundable should a sale with us not be completed. Because we know the individual puppy's personality, we are happy to assist purchasers in selecting a puppy whose temperament will best fit their specific family. Along with your deposit, we require a brief description of your family, home, and past experience with pets.
