ABOUT US: We have enjoyed raising dogs for over 38 years here at Whispering Pines in Minnesota. We appreciate being around great looking, intelligent dogs that have ample retrieving drive and yet have pleasant, easygoing personalities. We have found this in the Labrador Retriever genetic lines we choose to produce.
Mary Jo & I live on a secluded 60-acre wooded hobby farm. We are AKC, County and State inspected and in excellent standing. Raising AKC Registered Fox Red, Ivory, Black, and Yellow Lab puppies here in Milaca, Minnesota has been a wonderful family experience.

EARLY SOCIALIZATION: Our Labrador Retriever Puppies are born in a specially designed birthing room. They remain in this room for approximately two weeks where they are weighed and handled each morning and evening. When we are sure all is well with mom and pups are growing well, we move mom and her babies to our roomy nursery.
ADDITIONAL SOCIALIZATION PROGRAM: The second part of our socialization program is done each Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at five weeks of age. This involves bringing two puppies at a time into our puppy work area. We run six different tests, all designed to help us determine the introvert and extroverts within the litter. We document each puppy’s unique personality each of the nine times they are in our home before being chosen. In addition, we start to teach them basic manners, including no biting or jumping.
The day before you are scheduled to pick out your puppy and take it home we email the Personality Tendency Information test scores to you. Using the scores as a basis to select a puppy whose personality will best fit your lifestyle has proven to be a great tool in the selection process.
We invest a lot of time testing and recording our puppy's personality tendencies, but find this to be well worth our investment and a highly successful part of our program.
