All of our puppies are raised in our home with our family. We have had excellent results in socializing our puppies from birth to 8 weeks of age. Our puppies are handled daily and leave our home very confident and secure. Our puppies are seen by our vet between 6 and 8 weeks of age and are given their first set of puppy shots and a clean bill of health before leaving with our buyers. All of our puppies are sold with Limited Registration and a one year Health Guarantee to PET HOMES ONLY.
When we made a commitment to begin a breeding program, there were a few things we knew were a must when dealing with Golden's. The most important being health. Our foundation stud "MAC" had a PENNHip certification rating of 100%, which means he had the tightest hips a Golden can have. Most of our current females are out of his lineage. Our youngest stud Jack, and several of our breeding girls also have excellent hip scores from OFA and PennHip. All of our breeding dogs have their OFA, CERF and PENNHip health clearances for HIPS, ELBOWS, HEART and EYES. This gives you the confidence of knowing that you are buying a puppy that is not LIKELY to have hereditary health problems common to Golden Retrievers.
Temperament is equally important as good health. A Golden should be just that-"GOLDEN". When we have puppies,we do some temperament testing on them in order to help place them into service training and with the right families. Our other foundation stud, Stryker, has strong Goldrush lineage, and has an exceptional temperament that He consistantly passes down to his puppies. Stryker has produced some awesome pups that are serving wounded Veterans through Patriot Service Dogs and Smokey Mountain Service Dogs... We also have Strykers lines continued into our breeding program
Conformation plays an important role also. All of our dogs have very impressive Champion pedigrees with lines from Asterling's, Pekay, Dalane's, Gold Rush, Twin-Beau-D's, Dapplegray's and Topbrass. We have purchased dog lines that we feel meet, and in some areas, exceed AKC standard. Those areas that do not exceed, well, they give us something to work on! As a breeder it is important to always strive to better the breed.
The last really important thing we wanted to focus on was Intelligence! Our dogs are all being trained in obedience and we would encourage you to do the same. Many of our Country Golden puppies have been trained in and graduated from service dog organizations, and are currently serving Veterans. No matter what you decide to do with your new puppy, take the time to FIRST train him in simple obedience- you'll be glad that you did!
All of our puppies are sold to approved homes ONLY and with Limited AKC Registration. We do this to protect the lines that we and other breeders have worked hard to preserve. This also ensures that none of our puppies end up in puppy mills or undesireable homes. Puppies are raised inside our home so that they are properly socialized and can begin potty training before they are sent to your home. When you get your new puppy, you are going to want a dog that you can do anything with and that is going to look good and feel great doing it- You've come to the right place- We hope you enjoy our Country Goldens!
