Tory X Brindy puppies born April 14, 2024. This is a gorgeous Champion sired litter. We have one smooth red girl and one smooth red brindle boy available.

Our puppies are born in our living room, right with us. (or at Littlestown Vet Hospital, in the case of a ceserean, even then, I am hands on in the O.R. ) We do not leave our new mama's side for at least 48 hrs. We make sure each puppy is nursing well and mama is settled into her new roll. The puppies are handled every day, and are well socialized! They are used to everyday household noises (including the evil Roomba !). also people of different ages, including our Grand Children,  a variety of chickens, miniature horses, two Morkies, and our other Four Dachshunds.

*The purchase of a puppy is not a decision to be made quickly, or taken lightly. This puppy will be a family member in your home for the next 15 to 18 years! Isn't that why you're looking for a responsible breeder? You want a healthy puppy with a good start in life. Those first weeks are so important for the emotional health of the puppy. We sell our pups on a spay/neuter contract, AKC registered, non breeding status. This is a home companion. If you are thinking about breeding, it's best to say so right up front! Our puppies are not cheap, if the lowest price around is your goal, good luck to you. I will ask you to keep in mind the money you will spend on Vet bills with an poorly bred puppy.  AKC, http://www.akc.org is filled with very helpful information. I've been in good standing with AKC for 42 years. I see no need to venture into the lesser dog clubs. AKC is the original canine registry in the USA, and I'm fine with that. The same website also has a very good page on questions to ask a breeder. (Or just ask me!) With the technology we have today, there is no reason to be uneducated about the breed of your choice. At least know the basics.

*All of our Redeemer's puppies are examined by our Vet at Littlestown Animal Hospital. Here is the link, go ahead and check me out. They know us and our dogs well.   http://www.littlestownvethospital.com

*Pups have thier first set of vaccines and come with a Health Certificate issued and signed by our Vet. All pups have thier dew-claws removed and receive regular de-wormings until they go home. We start potty training outside at five - six weeks, weather permitting.

*The pups are introduced to a crate. To a dog, a crate is their own little comfy get-a-way. It is not a punishment and should not be used as one. A crate is essential in house training. All of these details decrease their stress during the transition from our home to yours.

*Along with your new Redeemer's puppy, we give you a sample of thier current puppy food with feeding instructions,  small crate,  scented 'mommy towel' to sooth them,  bully stick,  teething bone,  soft squeaky toy with their littermates' scent, AKC registration applicationan, individual Health Certificate, and our contact info for 24/7 Lifetime Pup Support! We're not going to move in with you, but we are here when you need us.

We have found an all natural supplement we are truly excited about, "NuVet Plus Immune Wafers" . Keeping the puppies (and all my dogs) on NuVet Plus Immune Support wafers builds thier immune system allowing them to better handle the stress involved in moving to a new home. I require all my new puppy homes continue giving it for at least the first year.  Check out this link for NuVet supplements! www.nuvet.com/63131.  No, you can't get the same thing on Amazon.

*Be informed, Buy smart, NOT from a pet store! You ARE supporting puppy mills if you buy from a Pet Store! A reputable breeder WILL NOT sell their babies to a pet store! When you see that poor little puppy in the Pet Store, WALK AWAY.  If you "just can't help yourself", or think you "need to rescue the poor thing" because "it looked so pitiful", then you need to know the truth. That puppy came from a puppy mill ! As soon as it's sold, there will be 100 more puppies to fill that cold metal cage. It is simply a matter of supply and demand. If no one buys that puppy, the pet store won't order more puppies, the puppy mills would eventually go out of business. Pet stores pay very little for each puppy. Usually a middle man buys whole litters at a time. This means the actual breeder has no idea what kind of home their puppy is being placed in. The Pet store sells the puppy to you for $$$$? When you fall head over heals for that little tear streaked puppy face, YOU have just supported the cruel money sucking industry of Puppy Mills! (Ask me what I really think! I hear your heart breaking stories every day.) There you have my Speech of The Day! I don't appologize, Dachshunds are my Passion!

My advice when checking out a Breeder is to ask tons of questions, and let the Breeder talk. You can find out all kinds of information by listening between the lines! Such as; How often do they breed each female?, How old is the mother of the litter?, How many litters has she had? What are the sizes and temperment of her past puppies? What health screenings do they preform on their Adult dogs? What are the Parents and Grand parents of this puppy like? Are there health problems in this bloodline? Do you have to get the puppy fixed? (If they value the bloodline they have developed, they will not allow you to walk away without signing a contract stating you will have the pup spayed/neutered. (not "fixed" -listen for proper terminology.)

While we are on the subject, a Dachshund Breeder should know how to pronounce the word Dachshund. It is Dock, as in a boat dock, Sun, as in the large star we rotate around every day. It is NOT Dash-hound or Dash-und. If a Breeder doesn't even know how to pronounce the name of his/her breed, hang up the phone! When visiting a Breeder, you should always see where the adult dogs sleep and exercise. Don't be distracted by cute puppies, check the place out. Most puppies are happy and playful. A dogs true temperment comes through around 14 months of age. This is well after your initial purchase, after your family is emotionally attached to the dog. It is critical to deal with an experienced, knowledgeable, honest!, breeder. If I don't have what you are looking for, I may be able to guide you to another reputable breeder.

Please feel free to call or email with any questions. I love to talk dachshund. We live in Littlestown, Pa., between Gettysburg, Pa., and Westminster Md.
