Parents are selected for good temperaments, proper Dachshund conformation,  and good health. No Seizure disorder, angular limb deformity, hemangiosarcoma, or submissive urination in the parents or their pedigrees. Most of the Dachshund parents are well known to other Dachshund exhibitors from competing in conformation or performance events.

 My puppies are home raised with lots of environmental enrichments. I stay with the mother during whelping, so all the pups are imprinted on a caring person.  Nails are trimmed weekly, weekly baths start at 3 weeks, puppy training pads are used on the puppy pen to make house training easier. As the puppies get older,  my senior adult Dachshunds step in to help teach them. Puppies get outside play time, car rides, and TV watching cuddle time. I try to give them baby puppyhood experiences to help them experience a smooth transition to their new families. 

Puppies will have had their first vaccination,  dewormers, and microchip. They are fed American Natural Premium Puppy Kibble or Fromm Gold Puppy Kibble. 

SPRING VALLEY DACHSHUNDS are first and foremost my companions. The adult Dachshunds sleep on my bed and are rarely crated. They truly are house dogs involved with day to day home activities.  My senior dogs continue to train and participate in activities including AKC performance events,  Barn Hunt,  parades, and other community.

This year, searching for something interesting my 17 year old Dachshund could do, we found Dunkin Dawgs. I can join 3 of my Dachshunds in the pool for another type of fun exercise.
