Standard poodles are prone to many health problems. Please be sure to inquire about health testing before you take your new puppy home! You will be surprised at what breeders skip very basic testing! Don't fall into a "cute puppy" trap. This is your newest family member, so don't settle for anything less than the best!
Please do your homework before purchasing a new puppy. Buying animals is always buyer beware. I would not support breeders who I know to have poor breeding practices, but it is also the responsibility of the buyer to make sure parents are tested and cleared for genetic problems, to build a relationship with the breeder for lifelong support, and to feel comfortable with your purchase. I am always there for my clients and my dogs to ensure that they never end up in rescue organizations or shelters. A Cadeau Poodle will always be welcomed with open arms back to its first home! Cadeau Standard Poodles come from an extensive line of AKC Champions, obedience, agility, therapy, and hunting dogs. Parents have been tested and cleared for health problems, including von Willebrand’s disease, Sebaceous Adenitis (SA), Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE), degenerative myelopathy (DM), OFA tested for hips, CERF for eyes, and full thyroid panels. We also support breeding for genetic diversity and are now having the veterinary genetic laboratory (VGL) canine genetic diversity profile done on our poodles. These Poodles are beautiful and correct in structure (conformation), healthy and intelligent, with some of the most adorable temperaments across the USA. Puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks to ensure the right fit with your family. Pups go home up to date on shots (Dr. Jean Dodds minimum vaccine protocol), microchipped, wormed, dails tocked to breed standar, & dew claws removed. Puppies are raised indoors with other dogs, cat, and my 2 children. I follow the early neurological stimulation Bio Sensor guidelines starting from birth as research supports this method for improved cardiovascular performance and stress response.
